These Marine aluminium alloys(rolled and extruded) that are used in marine applications belong for the most part to two Series the 5000 (5083, 5086, 5754) series comprising aluminium-magnesium alloys, and the 6000 (6082, 6005A, 6351, 6061) series which consists of aluminium-magnesium-silicon alloys. They have been chosen for their level of mechanical properties, their ease of assembly by welding and their excellent corrosion resistance in marine environments. The composition of wrought alloys used in marine applications is their mechanical properties, their aptitude to cold working, their corrosion resistance.
